Vegetarian Meals Prepared in the Ayurvedic Tradition

Healthy and delicious vegetarian meals, prepared personally for you… isn’t your wellness worth it?

I design meals in the Ayurvedic tradition to bring harmony to your body. I do this by using foods to balance the five elements (earth, air, ether, water and fire) that represent your constitution. Balanced meals are created by including each of the six tastes (sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter and astringent) and following Ayurvedic food combining guidelines for optimal absorption, assimilation, and digestion of nutrients. Special consideration is given to the individual constitution; spices are combined and/or condiments included so as to balance the meal for each constitution (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) or to make the meal “tri-doshic” (suitable for all constitutions).

 In addition to Ayurvedic guidelines, when preparing vegetarian meals, I design them to provide you with a whole protein similar to that found in eating animal protein. This is another type of “food combining” (different from Ayurvedic “food combining”); it ensures that you have the nine essential amino acids necessary for dietary needs.
